PRESS RELEASE

TO BE RELEASED IMMEDIATELY TO THE PRESS

October 9, 2007:  American Power Systems, Inc. announced today the release of their new  83i Dual Redundant Alternator for the 12 and 24 volt bus markets.  Peter Quinn, Director of OEM Sales for American Power Systems stated, “The new 83i is a unit the bus industry has been waiting for.  Dual Redundant technology and patented magnetics make it a real power house for those tired of poor performing technology from the past.  The 83i can produce over 200 amps at idle at 24 volts and well over 600 amps at 12 volts.  The new alternator is designed to substantially outperform and replace the Neihoff 305 and the Remy 50DN.”

After extensive testing on military applications, American Power Systems determined the optimum computerized design and now is making it available to OE Tour Bus builders throughout the USA.  American Power Systems previous designs were based on small frame alternators,  but OEMs still wanted more power than our popular 648  alternator”, Mr. Quinn said.  “The 83i Series is designed to run in high temperature situations and provide high power for large coach loads.  Also the 83i will survive virtually any high temp environment due to it’s patented cooling technology”  Mr. Quinn said.  The alternator will fit on all J mount and radius pad mount diesel engines.
