APS Internship Program
American Power Systems, Inc. (APS) currently is accepting applications for the position of Product Engineering Intern.


About the Internship
The Product Engineering Intern will have the opportunity to put her or his educational experience to work in a real-world, niche manufacturing environment. By participating in and contributing to various product development projects with a small team dedicated to the design of DC power systems, the intern will gain knowledge and work experience in mechanical and electrical engineering.


This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week position with an expected work schedule of 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is a summer position, with relatively flexible start and end dates to be based upon the academic calendar.


The internship is being supported in part by the Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Targeted Industries Internship Program (TIIP). The student may be required to complete various reporting requirements related to TIIP. If so, APS will provide the student with directions and assistance.

Minimum Requirements
Students must meet each of the minimum requirements listed below to be considered for the internship.


•    Currently pursuing a degree in electronic, electrical or mechanical engineering, with a projected graduation date (bachelor’s degree) within one year of internship completion

•    Proven people/project leadership throughout academic career (on- or off-campus)

•    Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

•    Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future work authorization or visa sponsorship for employment
