MIL-STD-461 Test requirements  


American Power Systems high output alternators for armored vehicles are tested in accordance with MIL-STD-461F as follows:

EMI TEST REQUIREMENTS:

Alternator shall not exceed the limits of conducted radiated emissions and specified in MIL-STD-461F except frequencies specified for each test method shall be as follows: RE102 (Frequency Range 2 MHz to 18 GHz).

The following test parameters shall apply for all tests specified:

1.  Alternator assembly shall be subjected to EMI testing IAW MIL-STD-461F at 100 +/- 6 amps at an alternator speed of 3300 +/- 300 rpm.

2.  Failure to meet the above requirements shall be cause for rejection.
