June 11, 2004. American Armature announced today the release of their new Nitro Series II Alternator for the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Peter Quinn, Director of OEM Sales for American Armature stated, "This alternator is groundbreaking. It can produce ultra high amps at idle and well over 220 amps at higher engine RPMs. The new alternator is designed to substantially outperform and replace the Ford stock CVPI alternators including the new unit from Mitsubishi."

After extensive testing on the streets of New York City, American Armature determined the optimum computerized design and now is making it available to Police Fleet Managers throughout the USA.. "American Armature’s previous design was well received by all police fleets, but they still wanted more power than our popular Nitro Series I Alternator", Mr. Quinn said. .The Nitro Series II is designed as ‘plug and play’ therefor additional wiring harnesses are not required. "Simply remove the factory alternator and replace it with ours", Mr. Quinn said. The alternator will fit on all CVPI, Explorer and Expedition models, 1997-Present.
