High Output Alternators by APS for Heavy Duty Applications

American Power Systems (APS) designs and manufactures high output alternators and dual alternator systems that deliver continuous high power output for demanding vehicle and energy applications. Operating across 12 to 48 volts*, APS solutions support armored and security vehicles including the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Nissan Patrol) as well as commercial fleets such as coaches, work trucks and specialty vehicles.

APS alternators are also used in marine applications and integrated with off grid and advanced energy systems, including lithium ion battery storage and portable onboard DC power generation systems. These solutions are engineered to provide reliable electrical power in environments where consistent performance is critical.

Our new Ultra Performance at Idle (UPI) series is the next-generation of high output alternators based on our original High Performance at Idle (HPI) alternator series. The new alternators share the same weight, size, and other mechanical specifications as the HPI versions but with higher output at both upper and lower ranges of the RPM output curve. APS’s high output alternators pack more power into a smaller, lighter case. APS alternators can double or triple a vehicle’s OEM output and with a dual alternator solution, we can provide as much as five times more power.

APS alternators are rated as highly efficient, with efficiency of 80 percent or greater, and therefore consume less fuel, costing less to operate and contributing to less engine wear than other options. In addition, American Power Systems, Inc.’s high output alternators self-cool with singular or dual internal fans and high-performance heat sinks, allowing the user to work these units hard without overheating or causing damage to other equipment.
